ABCkboard is a free browser-based learning game for young children. It's built and run by a single independent developer, not a company. This policy explains what little information the site touches, why, and who else (if anyone) sees it.
If you submit a note through the "What would make ABCkboard even better?" form, we store:
That's the entire schema — there is no name field, no email field, and no hidden tracking data attached to your submission. The placeholder text invites you to include your name and email inside the note itself if you'd like a reply — that's entirely optional, and if you leave it out, we have no way to identify or contact you at all.
Playing the game itself — pressing keys, tapping letters, using the kiosk — collects nothing. We do not use accounts, logins, analytics, advertising trackers, or any kind of behavioral profiling. The on-screen tap counter you see during play resets every session and is never saved or sent anywhere; it exists only on your own screen while you're playing.
ABCkboard is designed to be played by young children together with a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The one place the site accepts free-text input — the feedback form — is intended for the parent or guardian, is entirely optional, and is not part of the game a child interacts with. We do not ask a child's name, age, or any identifying information anywhere in the app.
A handful of outside services are involved in specific, limited ways. Nothing below runs unless the corresponding feature is actually used.
| Service | What it's for | What it sees |
|---|---|---|
| Google (Apps Script, Sheets, Gmail) | Stores feedback-form submissions and emails a copy to the developer | Only the feedback text and timestamp you submit. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy. |
| PayPal | Handles optional donations ("Buy us a coffee") | Only reached if you click the donate button, which takes you to PayPal's own site. We never see or store any payment details — that happens entirely on PayPal's side, under PayPal's Privacy Statement. |
| jsDelivr (CDN) | Delivers the game's icon artwork and one small animation library | Standard web server logs (like any file request), which typically include your IP address, per jsDelivr's privacy policy. Most icon artwork also has an offline fallback stored directly with the app. |
| Google Fonts | Delivers one typeface used for the page title | Standard web server logs, per Google's Privacy Policy. |
ABCkboard does not set any cookies, and does not use browser local storage to remember anything about you between visits. Any cookies you encounter after clicking through to PayPal are set by PayPal, not by us.
Submitted feedback is kept indefinitely in a private spreadsheet only the developer can access, so it can inform future improvements to the app. If you'd like a specific note removed — for example, if you included your name or email and want it deleted — email us at the address below and we'll remove it.
Feedback text is sanitized before storage to prevent it from being misread as a spreadsheet formula. There are no accounts or passwords in this app, so there's nothing of that kind to be breached.
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Since ABCkboard doesn't collect contact information from most visitors, we won't be able to notify you directly — check back here if you're curious.
